“One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an ADVENTURE!”

~ William Feather

ABOUT BOHOL. Bohol is one of the lost paradises with full of wonders and captivating spots in the Philippines and it’s located in Central Visayas. There are lots of places that you need to discover in Bohol and must be added on your bucket lists.

This picture was taken after Iโ€™ve arrived at Tubigon Port, Bohol. Btw, it’s my second time here and it’s good to be back!

HELLO BOHOL. Actually, itโ€™s my second time to visit Bohol. My first visit there was last 2016 together with my sister and her workmates. All I could say that my first visit was fun, but of course the second time was incredible and extremely exciting!

How to get there? Hereโ€™s a sample itinerary for you to be guided if youโ€™re planning to visit Bohol.

ITINERARY 1
  • 1230- ETA Cebu Port, Pier 3
  • 1330- ETD going to Tubigon Port, Bohol (225)
  • 1530- ETA Tubigon Port, Bohol
  • 1600- ETD going to Carmen (80)
  • 1700- ETA Carmen Terminal
  • 1710- ETD going to Alicia (Van 60/ Bus 40)
  • 1800- ETA Alicia Market
  • 1810- ETA Alicia Backpackers Inn (350/person)

The travel time from Cebu City (Pier 3) to Tubigon, Bohol (225 pesos) is about 1hr & 40 mins. Upon arrival, look for Tubigon Terminal and ask for a van that goes to Carmen (80 pesos) then ride a bus that goes to Alicia (40 pesos). If you aren’t sure about the direction, just ask the people there and they are much willing to answer your questions. It’ll take almost 2 hrs before you arrive in Alicia from Tubigon Port.

When I arrived at Alicia, Bohol I looked for a place to stay and the locals suggested me to stay at Alicia Backpackers Inn (350/person). I strongly suggest that you should start your journey at night and make sure to arrive at 4 AM to lower your expenses. You can also do camping instead if you want to witness the shining stars and a bright crescent moon/ full moon.

ITINERARY 2
  • 0330- Wake up call
  • 0400- ETD going to Binabaje Hills (200)
  • 0440- Start trekking (20 entrance)
  • 0700- ETD going back to Alicia/ Breakfast

Binabaje Hills

The Binabaje Hills also known as Alicia Panoramic Park. Picturesque indeed.

It is actually a newly discovered gem and recently opened to the public last 2017, and hopefully, this one of a kind natureโ€™s glory will be conserved.

THE TRAIL. We started to trek at 4:40 AM right after we arrived in a small town called Brgy Cambaol since I left early at 4:00 AM. Before reaching the starting point of the trail, youโ€™ll cross over first two streams and muddy roadways. At first, the trail to Binabaje Hills was accessible but in the middle of it, I started to feel weary, up until I reached the top. The slippery slope made it more difficult for me to continue the trail. The moment I’ve reached the top of Binabaje Hills, everything was perfect; the sunrise, the air and of course the rolling hills.

The trail going up to Binabaje Hills is more or less than an hour depending on your pace. There are some gazebos stationed along the trail if you want to rest when you’re tired.

What to bring?

  • Environmental Fee
  • Water
  • Tour guide
  • Extra shirt

After I arrived at the base of Binabaje Hills, I then headed to the next stop of my Bohol excursion โ€“ Candijay, Bohol.
